NARROW ESCAPE?
WELCOME BACK SAFELY
to
Pete Goodall and
Jane
after their recent holiday in North West Italy.
They missed their flight back to UK due to absolutely unprecedented weather conditions en route to Geneva airport.
The hair raising journey began in the early hours of New Years Eve, in treacherous weather conditions with only a Fiat 500 trying to "man up" to being a 4 x 4.
Pete drove the brave little vehicle along winding mountainous roads up Mont Blanc, Europe's highest peak, through drifting snow and ice, only to find their route through the 12 mile tunnel blocked.
After waiting several hours with by now hundreds of other stranded motorists, an official van with flashing lights stopped by each vehicle advising that no one would be able to pass through the tunnel that day.
Pete and Jane were forced to make a 500 km detour back along now even more treacherous mountain roads to the St Bernard Pass, which against all the odds was still open when they arrived.
By now they had rebooked their flight for the next day - what would we do without mobile phones? - and exhausted, they reached Martigny at the east end of Lake Geneva.
Luck was with them at last and they managed to find a Tourist Information Office still open and were directed to a hotel with vacancies where they spent New Years Eve.
What a journey ....
Just like BEING ON THE ROAD AGAIN .....

New Album in the pipeline
AT LAST .....
the long awaited album from
Valeryan
All master tracks are in the "can" and mixing and mastering tasks are under way at the studios in Hereford ........ and away in Oxford ....
A haunting rendition of Who Knows Where the Time Goes - has been released as a single and can be downloaded from i-tunes as part of the pre-release promotion programme for the album ... listen out for Pete Goodall's beautiful guitar notes weaving between the lines of Valeryan's melodious voice ......... a true synergy ....
The album of 12 tracks, nine of which are written by Valeryan provides a musical entertainment encompassing contrasting styles of voice and arrangement ........ Moving Shadows has a latin feel ...... Circle Line - country rock ...... Tinker Tailor - almost pure folk ........ Never Shared the Wine is reminiscent of a delicate music box ........ and is a true story .....Twelfth Night (how's your Shakespeare?) verging towards jazz ...... Betrayed by a Kiss - sultry and bluesy with a good, tongue in cheek story line ....... Galadriel's Mirror - folky and autobiographical ......
Mary Mary Mary tells another story in folk club style with a catchy chorus for all to join in .... and Woodland Spirit ranges from a gentle folky start, building and building its hook line chorus into an almost pounding soul ending ....
Fitting well into the overall feel of the album is a dramatic version of the traditional song She Moved Through the Fayre arranged by Valeryan, and lastly, Bob Lind's Drifter's Highway - a song she first recorded many years ago for Decca .......... while still at school!
Drifter's Highway was the song that brought Valeryan into contact with Pete Goodall again after many years. He wrote and produced a single - Whichaway Billy - with her while she was part of The Settlers (UK Band) way back in the mid 70's ......
The album has been arranged by Pete in conjunction with Val, and engineered throughout by Bri at the Hereford Studios.
21st Century Kung Fu Fighting !
The full story !
In the beginning there were three people with different styles in Dance Music
Kevin Lloyd a producer of Nu Skool, Break Beat & Dub Step
Dave Grier a producer of Electro House,Cranking House & Techno
Ian Middleton a DJ & producer of Hard House, Psy Trance & Israeli Trance
Dave & Kev are old friends who met in WSM & worked in Kev's Recording Studio in Ross-on-Wye
Ian & Dave are friend's out DJ'ing (Heaven, After Dark & the infamous Bunker to name but a few) all three get together as a team to create an Album for a friend (Napier) when they formed the band CETACEA
Moving on in time to a chance meeting between Pete Goodall & Ian,in October 2010 at Speakeasy Recordings Hereford, a question was asked by Pete, the band leader with Carl Douglas in the 70's, could a remix of Kung Fu Fighting be brought into the dance world, for a new generation of clubber's....
Kev,Dave & Ian reformed AnalogLife & the three Writer / Producers got together at Dave's Recording studio (Bassline) in WSM to create an Electro House version, with their friend MC Sane being recruited to add extra vocal's to the already Kicking track
After six weeks work the Mixdown was ready for Pete & Brian at Speakeasy for approval.
Perfect, the thumbs up sign was given & we were on our way to the renowned John Dent at Loud Mastering in Taunton to Master the track
To our amazement John was at the original Cutting of the track in the 70's (sorry John) at Trident in London as an apprentice
(how cool is that)
The finished track was taken back to Pete at Speakeasy then on to
One Media Ltd for distribution
AnalogLife are working on more 70's tracks

It's Magic...
Speakeasy are delighted to announce the forthcoming release of the debut album by an exciting new performer and writer - Emily-Jane.At just 17 years old Emily-Jane - already an accomplished live performer and lyricist - proved a natural in the recording studio.
Her quality and potential is underlined by her current studies - attending the prestigious Italia Conti stage school in London, having sailed through the rigorous screening and auditions process.
'Magic' is a joint project with Peter Goodall, who has written the music to accompany Emily-Jane's lyrics.
Consisting of 10 tracks, the album showcases her powerful and unique voice - quality pop music with a rock and blues twist.
Before starting to record 'Magic' at Hereford Music Studios Emily-Jane had not worked in a recording environment before, but soon showed the house band (Thunderclap) her innate sense of rhythm and syncopation, perfect melodic control and first class harmonies.
A tour with Thunderclap is in the pipeline.
'Magic' will be available to download from iTunes shortly. Watch this space for further news.
